What is a Homespun Community Dance? |
 |

An exciting, interactive
workshop or family dance that gets dancers
of all ages up and moving as they learn about
the history and musical traditions of different
cultures
-
A foot-stomping,
hand-clapping atmosphere with live music
played on traditional instruments like banjo,
fiddle and pennywhistle
-
Most of all, a festive
learning experience! Homespun's experienced
dance caller lets everyone know what to do and
when to do it. Steps are taught so quickly that
participants won't realize they're learning
something new

Who we are: |
 |
Peter Davis, Paul Rosenberg and
George Wilson have led elementary school daytime
workshops and residencies in traditional community
dance and music since 1994. Peter and George have
been arts educators since the 1970s, and Paul has
led dances since 1986. Peter plays guitar, banjo,
clarinet, mandolin, ukulele and pennywhistle. George
plays fiddle, banjo, and guitar. Paul calls the
dances and plays recorder.
