Weddings. Anniversaries. Fundraisers. Company parties. Bar mitzvahs.
What do all of these have in common? Your attendees should have fun!
With live music and a dance caller prepared for any special event, Homespun Occasions provides traditional entertainment to make any of your gatherings festive.
Your upcoming wedding should be special and unique. It should be enjoyable not just for the individuals getting married, but for every guest. We bring cultural traditions hundreds of years old to your wedding, with dance leaders who will inspire your guests to get involved by getting up on their feet to celebrate your special day with you.
Are you holding a fundraising event in your community? Our professional dance callers will lead your fundraiser attendees in square, folk, contra, and circle dance steps from the more than 300 dances in our repertoire. Introduce your event attendees to one of our many American and international dances, let them mingle on our dance floor and help them get excited about your cause.
Provide your college students with a safe, alcohol-free alternative to their regular weekend activities. Our Homespun Occasions dance programs can be customized to fit any type of college group, such as classes, dormitory residents, outing clubs, and student organizations. Our dances can be a phenomenal part of freshman orientation – as a “get-to-know-you” or mixer event. Flexible scheduling allows for daytime, evening and weekend opportunities!
Intergenerational Family Dances
Enjoy a tradition of community dancing and music handed down from generation to generation. Come kick up your heels to live fiddle music fit for ages 2 to 102. We invite everyone to participate, especially those who have not danced before. Our monthly family dance, sponsored by the DanceFlurry Organization, is usually held on the second Sunday of each month, November through April. More information and schedule of public dances here.
Enjoy simple dances from the US and around the world, such as circles, squares, contras and other configurations. Connect to the old traditions of community dancing, something everyone did as a social activity: it’s fun, easy and celebratory. Community dances are a way to bring people of all ages together in an evening of simple joyous dances that anyone of any age can do, whether you have ever danced or not.
